How do you start off the day on the right foot? It helps to have something to look forward to in order to get the day started. For 30 consecutive days, I got up early and hustled to the 6th floor gym of my condo just to slow down and watch (and film) the view of the sunrise.
It was great motivation to get the feeling of accomplishment, and also to take a few minutes each day to reflect on life as I watched the red sun climb over the buildings in the distance.
Conveniently, since I was already at the gym to watch the view, it was an easy way to pair my morning workout with getting up early! For my fellow habit-building nerds, this morning workout has been a habit that has been easy to maintain after completing the Sunrise Challenge.
Here is a video of the sunrise for the 30-days. On some days, it was too overcast to see clearly, but the morning time spent to reflect helped to clear the mental fog.
