New Video: Off the Tourist Track in Southern Thailand

When your friends show off their pictures of parties on the beach during their recent trip to Thailand, it is probably from a beach in Southern Thailand. But not too many foreigners venture further off away from the neon nights to the local, lesser-known southern provinces that are kissed by the Andaman Sea.

One of these is Satun (sounds like Sa-Toon). Satun is not only home to sunsets that can stop time, but it is also a vibrant intersection of culture, food, and history. You can find some of the best roti shops, where the Thai tea technicians make the classic orange drink dance across your eyes, adding a layered froth for you to enjoy while you crunch into a thin, burning roti.

This is a place you really need to walk around in order to fully absorb its hidden corners.
