Way back in late 2020, the Van Gogh Life and Art Exhibit came to River City, Bangkok. River City is a space for local and international artists to develop and showcase their life’s work. There are small galleries that you can freely explore, studios, workshops, as well as shops, craft coffee stalls, and featured exhibits. It is conveniently located right on the Chao Phraya across from Icon Siam and near the hipster hangouts of Talad Noi and Warehouse 30.
Entry to the space is free, but the featured exhibits have a nominal cost (the Van Gogh exhibit was about ~12 USD) Tickets for the rotating featured exhibits are sold at the gift shop downstairs, which is inundated with commercialized apparel. Take a stroll to the upper floors to see the artists in action and maybe you will regain some of that inspiration.
To see what River City has going on now and what’s coming soon, I recommend following the link to their website: https://rivercitybangkok.com/
Since the Van Gogh feature is no longer in Bangkok, check out the video to see what you missed!
For those who are driving, there is a parking lot at River City, but riding the local boat transportation may be more enjoyable!
